You don't need to spend a lot of time at the spa or change your entire beauty routine to get glowing skin, but rather just make a few small adjustments. Here, we share our top five tips so you can have perfect skin all year long.
1. Make sure you are getting enough sleep!
Unless you have an army of makeup artists and estheticians on staff, it's difficult to look rested and fresh in the morning when you don't get a full night of Z's. While you sleep, your body boosts blood flow to your skin and redistributes fluids in your tissues. If you don't give your body enough time to do this, your skin can look dull, dry, and puffy. A lack of sleep can also increase stress, making you more prone to breakouts. To make sure your skin glows, strive to get at least seven hours of quality sleep every night.
2. Apply sunscreen every day, even when you don't think you need it
Break out the sunscreen that's been in hiding since last season. We all know that we're supposed to wear sunscreen year-round, but when we haven't seen the sun in a few days or weeks, it's easy to forget. However, sunscreen is essential for preventing skin cancer, and you should be applying it daily to protect your delicate skin. It also helps to keep your skin looking soft, smooth and even by protecting against sun damage that can lead to fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. Make sure to choose a broad-spectrum sunblock that is SPF 30 or higher. For maximum UV protection, be sure to reapply every few hours - or more frequently if you go in the water or work up a sweat.
3. Exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week!!
